In the current year, the international
community marks the 73th anniversary of victory over Nazism. It should be noted
that, International Democratic Society celebrates victory over Nazism on May 8 (and not on May 9), when the
command of the German Armed Forces signed the Act on Capitulation. In this case
we would like to pay attention to the other circumstances.
As it is known, the Second World War began on September 1, 1939 when Nazi Germany attacked Poland. It is being considered the fact, that the international community believes that Nazi Germany, with fascist Italy and militarist Japan, should be responsible for the crimes against humanity.

After that, Nuremberg’s tribunal (in 1946) and 2 years later Tokyo tribunals were held, when high-ranking military persons and civilians - who were jurors of German and Japanese imperialism, were sentenced to death or to lengthy imprisonment. Of course, it was a fair decision but at the same time, many people do not talk about what was one of the main reasons for the beginning of World War II.
One of the key factor was the signing of well-known
Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in Moscow. This
document was adopted in August 23, 1939, according to which, the Nazi Germany
and the Bolshevik Soviet Union divided spheres of influence in Europe. When the
Kremlin hit "green light" to
Hitler, Germany over the weekend attacked western provinces of Poland, and in
September 17 of the same year, the Soviet Union occupied Poland's eastern
provinces. Later, Nazi Germany grabbed Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, France
and so on. The Soviets occupied the Baltic states and started war with Finland
(whereby the USSR was excluded from the League of Nations in 1939). The USSR
lost more than 250 thousand people (the Soviet empire managed to occupy only
10% of the territory of Finland), and later, Soviet troops invaded to the
Romanian territory (Bessarabia).
In 1940, new negotiations between the USSR and Germany in Berlin were already dedicated to the distribution of influence in other regions of the world (including the Middle East).

After the above mentioned factors, the question is, why totalitarian
Soviet empire does not take the responsibility for the beginning of the Second
World War? Empire, which had an alliance with Nazi Germany.
As we know in 1940-1941 Hitler's Germany had only British resistance, UK defeated Germany in the air war considering the fact, that Britain lost 927 airplanes and Germany lost more than 1,500
bomber or anti-aircraft missiles.
Why did the international community celebrate
the 50th, 60th, 65th, etc. anniversaries of victory over Nazism in Moscow,
in the city, where in August 23,
1939 was made de-facto decision about
the beginning of war?
Why is it only officially recognized those
crimes, which have been conducted by the totalitarian regime in Germany? For
example, violence against the Jewish nation, when about 6 million people died
during the "Holocaust".
It is necessary to point out, that before the
World War 2, the entire network of camps was created in the USSR called
“Gulags”.
Until 1941, it included 53 concentration camps,
425 labor camps and 50 camps for juvenile (minors). During the existence of those
camps, over 40 million people – representatives of different nationalities had been killed.
Furthermore, during the World War 2 period, the whole nations (first of all
from Northern Caucasus) were exiled from their homelands.
Why those brutal actions can not be considered
as a genocide carried out against the representatives of different nations
(including ethnic Russians) living in the USSR?
Why did the international community not speak so
actively about these crimes against humanity?
The opinion presented by us does not disturb
the memory of the 350 thousand Georgians (and representatives of other nations,
where were victims of the war) who died during hostilities and who clearly believed that they were fighting
against Nazism and fascism and were protecting Georgia-their own homeland. Of course, International
community express its respect before the souls of about 62 million people from
the different states, who were tragically died within the World War 2 and
became the victims of the separate politicians and their ambitions.
